Activity Description

Join us for a day of fun and excitement as we walk up the mountain slopes and then scramble down into a pristine gorge and follow it down stream.

We meet at the parking area at 08h30 and complete final administration and kit issue before starting the walk up the slopes of the mountain, which takes about an hour – then the uphill is over!

We scramble down a gully into the 60m deep gorge (that’s more than 15 stories!) and follow the river down the gorge, walking, rock hopping, wading, swimming, jumping and abseiling along the way to make our way to the exit point. Along the way we’ll stop for a lunch break (normally quite early) and with a bit of luck we’re back at the cars around 15h30 – in time for a leisurely drive back home.

Customer Reviews

Great experience in beautiful scenery. There was some fantastic abseiling and it was an incredible privilege to see that side of the Magaliesberg. I'm very glad that I took the team's advice and used the wetsuit they provided - it can get mightily chilly after those swims! - Julian Grieve

This was the most fun I have had outdoors ever! Would highly recommend this as it was a fantastic experience. - Saieshni Thanthony

A Great day, though I was expecting more abseiling. Robert is a very good guide. - Alexandre Gizard

Throughly enjoyed this adventure. An unforgettable experience set in a majestic environment with friendly, professional and knowledgeable staff. I would highly recommend kloofing with Rob Thomas. - Razina Pandor

On the 14th January 2017, my husband - Tyrone and I started his birthday morning with a Kloofing expedition. :) Little did we know what this entailed, much to our delight it never dissapointed. We were by greeted by Victor Rundle from Mountain Adventures. Victor was thorough and well versed with the terrain. He tested our grit and we loved every moment of it. We hiked for almost 10 KM of the mountain area to a point where we started with our 1st abseil. Although we have abseiled before, it felt like the first time. The next 4 abseils were harder and wetter with the waterfalls as promised. It was an awesome experience with the last abseil being the most exhilarating. The mountain sanctuary is truly amazing and never knew how beautiful this part of our country really was. It was a scary beautiful tiring experience.....and yes we will do it again soon. For all adventurous couples - surely a must do and with this team. Chasthi & Tyrone Grant. - Chasthi Grant
